Funeral and end-of-life celebrant Canberra
A farewell that feels true to them
I'm Billie, a funeral celebrant helping families in Canberra and the surrounding region plan a personalised, non-religious funeral or celebration of life. One that reflects the person being honoured, not a standard script.
A proud ally to LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse and First Nations people, and all cultures.
Ceremonies held across Ngunnawal and Ngambri Country. I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of this land and pay my respects to Elders past and present.

ABOUT YOUR CELEBRANT
Hi, I'm Billie
I'm a celebrant known for bringing warmth and a bit of personality to every ceremony. At a funeral, that warmth shows up as patience, real listening and a calm, steady presence while you work out what this farewell needs to be.
Before becoming a celebrant, I spent my career as a registered nurse, so I'm used to being alongside families at their hardest moments. Blended families, estrangement, sudden loss, wishes nobody wrote down: I don't flinch at complexity, I just help you find the shape of it.
Now retired, I can work around your family, including weekdays, short notice, and meeting you at home, in hospital or in aged care.

MY PHILOSOPHY
No two farewells should look the same
Some families want quiet and reflective. Others want music, colour and stories told out loud. Neither is more "correct" than the other. The only thing that matters is whether it feels true to the person being remembered.
everyone should have the end of life they wanted
planned by someone who actually listened. That's the belief this work is built on. Not a checklist, not a package. A farewell shaped around one particular life.
listen
I start with listening.
Before anything is planned, I want to understand the story, the values and the vision, yours or theirs.
plan
I plan with care.
From logistics to the smallest personal touches, I handle the details so you can hold onto what matters most.
honour
I honour what's real
Every service is built around one individual life, not a standard package or a default script.
PLANNING AHEAD
Pre-planning & advance directives
Planning ahead isn't morbid, it's a gift to the people you love.
Pre-planning means the people around you already know what you'd want: the tone, the music, the words, even who speaks. When the time comes, your family can focus on each other instead of guessing.
This is a conversation, not a form to fill in alone. We talk through your wishes at your own pace, with no pressure and no obligation, and put together something your family can turn to when they need it most.
Supporting someone through this now? The same care applies. We'll talk through what matters to your family and shape a service around it, whether that's weeks away or needs to happen quickly.
